Bardock's family obviously have high abilities where gaining strength is concerned. As seen by Goku's Super Saiyan transformation, Gohan's hidden abilities, and the fact that Goten transforms into a Super Saiyan at such a young age (Yes, Trunks also does this, but Goten pretty much does it without even any training).

Bardock was improving and getting stronger true, but don't you think the king's power was rising as well. We see in flashbacks that he would also go to places and blow stuff up. (Saiyan excercise) Not to mention out of a planet full of Saiyans I highly doubt Bardock was the only one that, "comes back from every mission half dead." Saiyans tend to be reckless, so I doubt he was the only one. They could have been exagerating too, or the script writers just wanted to throw King Vegeta's name in there. I could be wrong though.

I do see your poin and i think we're basing alot of our speculations on thier offsprings, goku and vegeta, goku pretty much trained his butt off and got to where he is, Vegeta did the same thing except he never achieved SS3 and SS4 was from Bulma's machine. It is possible that King Vegeta did just as much training and was way more poweful than most saiyan hence why he's KING Vegeta and Bardock was just a low-class soldier. So I do see your point it is possible

True, but as Vegeta he would go into Saiyan Exercise only, but wouldn't go to as many places as Bradock, seeing a how he was the King. Also true that Bardock wasn't probbably the only one to always come half dead, BUT... there are always those that have more abilty than others. Seeing as how Goku was he had to get it from somewhere, and that was probbably Bardock.

Firefox Favourite Manga what manga	King Vegeta's power is in the 12,000-15,000 range. To be honest Bardock was not yet at the same caliber as King Vegeta. They said if he kept getting beat up and recovering he would eventually surpass King Vegeta.

And i quote: ''bah, i was stronger than my dad, even as a child'' I would guess that Bardock would stand a fair chance, due to the fact that you never hear his power level, you can only guess. I think its somewhere between 10-15000, out of his survival of Dodoria(Danish name for him, dont know the english one) blast. And his nice fight against Friezas elita, who killed alot of SJs. And ofcourse Bardock has the same genes of the strongest warriors in the univers.. expect the pussy Raditz... damn him.

When Nappa first arrived on Earth his power level is around 4,000 so it's only logic that 20+ years ago he was weaker than that and Nappa said he was "The Commander of the Saiyan Army". Clearly Nappa's quote proved 2 us that Saiyan's R WEAK even the most elites and the only reason Freiza consider using them because of their unique Transformation otherwise they would of been worthless. Bardock was the reason Freiza became afraid of the Saiyan's because his powerlevel was at 10,000s surpassing even most elites of Saiyans like Nappa The Commander of the Saiyan Army . Bardock should have been the commander of the saiyan army.

Anyway King Vegeta was quite weak if you think about it. Then again so was Bardock, but what the heck? :P
